Letter from the President
Greetings Violin Makers,
Howdy from Texas! Hope y’all are doing well. We are getting ready for this year’s convention. Bill Barnitz is working on the hotel and is finalizing the details as I am writing this letter.
Everybody, let’s get the word out about the Bow Competition. This is the first one we have had in a long time. I’m hoping we have a great turnout for our re-opening year.
We are also looking for a great photo that represents our organization in a picture form. This photo will be used as our Homepage cover for the VMAAI website. Let’s be creative about this and send in some photos to Chuck Conti so we can select one for our Homepage.
About the hyperlinks…..come on guys. We can use some interesting articles that have been found on the internet. We will hyperlink them to our web page and also list them in the journal. This will be a great way to find articles that are already out there. If you want to share anything you have found, please send them to Chuck Conti the “New Editor”.
I just got back from the NAMM show and am very excited about the opportunity that they are presenting to the VMAAI about future NAMM shows. We are going to be front and center at the convention for the Orchestra Exhibit area. We will be placed at the entrance area of the convention and we will be the “go to” organization for helping convention attendees in finding what they need. This will give us the chance to pitch membership to the orchestra stores and their owners and shop personnel.
Lets think about how we can help these people better serve their customers and in turn, grow our membership. If anyone would like to suggest anything or would like to talk to me more about this, please call me anytime at (817) 475-5119. Thanks and God Bless.
Jack Rasmussen
